Who we are
Harrop.works is run by James Harrop, a sole trader trading as Harrop.works, of 100 Munster Road, London SW6 5RD. We are the controller of the personal information described here. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller. Contact us about your information at works@harrop.works.
What we collect
- When you enquire, request a commission or send a trade brief: your name, email address, what you are interested in, and anything you choose to tell us.
- When you buy: your name, email address, delivery address, phone number and order details.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment but never your full card details.
- Your wall: the works you add to your wall are remembered only in your own browser. We cannot see them unless you send us an enquiry.
- The List: when a work is made, we record its code, the date and the city. We publish your name only if you ask us to.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiries and commission requests, which is in our legitimate interest and yours.
- To take payment, make, deliver and support your work, which is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To keep records of sales and the history of each work, for accounting, tax and authenticity. This is a legal obligation and in our legitimate interest.
- To send you news about new collections, only if you have asked us to. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed with the companies that help us run Harrop.works:
- Stripe, to take payments.
- Our printers, framers and fine art shippers, to make and deliver your work.
- Our email provider, to correspond with you.
- Vercel, which hosts this website.
Some of these companies store information outside the UK. Where they do, they are required to protect it to UK standards, using approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for six years after the end of the tax year of the sale, as UK tax law requires. We keep the record of who owns each work for as long as the work exists, because it forms part of the work's history. We keep enquiries that do not lead to a sale for up to two years.
Cookies and this website
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It uses your browser's own storage to remember your wall, and that stays on your device. Our typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google and shares your IP address with them.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can object to us using it for our legitimate interests, and withdraw consent to news emails at any time. Email works@harrop.works and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
